Principles Of Learning

Training is assumed to be the integral part of learning, It tells how the learning process should be organized. In this regard, following principles of learning have developed which tell how a learning can take place.

1.Principle Of  Motivation

Learning is enhanced when the learner is motivated to gain knowledge and skills. When a learner is motivated, he will exert high level of effort. It means, the learning process should be designed in such a way that will help learners achieve their goals.

2. Principle Of Feedback

Feedback is necessary is learning so that the learner can correct his/her mistakes. The learner, only by getting information about how he/she doing can compare it against his/her goals and correct out the deviations.

3. Principle Of Reinforcement

The principle of reinforcement tells that the positively rewarded behaviors are encouraged and sustained than negatively punished behaviors. It increases the likelihood of repeating a learned behavior.

4. Principle Of Practice

This principle tells that when learners actually practice what they have read, heard, or seen they gain confidence in enhancing their behaviors, and are less likely to make errors or mistakes while performing the tasks. It helps to increase the learner's performance.

5. Principle Of Transferable

The principle of transferable is concerned with the transformation of learning to the job, Unless, the learned behavior is transferred to actual working environment, the learning has no value. Hence, the training arrangements should be designed to foster transferability of behavior towards work environment.

6. Principle Of Relevance

This principles of learning tells that the training arrangement should be relevant to the objective and purpose of learning. Training techniques should fit training needs of the company i.e, it should impart required knowledge and skills.
